Well Control

Shelterland visited in December Thuy An Elderly, Orphan and Disabled children center in Ba Vi – a secluded area in the North of Vietnam.

The center contains nearly 300 people, where one third of them are elderly people who don’t have any family or any children to take care of them. Around 150 of the live in are disabled children, ranging from minor disability to severe brain damage. Where some of the disability are minor, the children get to attend school like other children, but many of them have more severe disability barely able to swallow what is given to them.

The remaining live in are orphan children, some of the more fortunate children get foster care, but most of them remain within the center for their entire lives.

At Shelterland, we believe in direct donation toward places like this, as it will go directly to the people who are in need, instead of getting “lost” along the way. In addition, within an organization of many people in their mid-twenties who mainly grow up in an 'ordinary' family, we’d like to improve our employees’ awareness toward society around them, so that everyone will realize how lucky they are and be more responsible toward the society.
